Five Equestrian Easter Basket Ideas for Horse Lovers

There's no better gift, in my humble opinion, than a thoughtfully made gift basket. That means Easter is my jam! I love putting together fun little equestrian Easter Baskets for friends and family.

But it doesn't have to be limited to just the kiddos...Adults love Easter Baskets too! A small little basket full of cute little things is a great gift for your barn fam too! Gift your horse trainer, farrier, vet...or make a bunch of mini-baskets for your best barn pals.

It's fun to give, I think. Any time I have an opportunity to give someone something special...I will almost always take the opportunity!

To help give you a little inspo on building a super-cute equestrian gift basket for your horse fam...We came up with five pairings of our favorite easter basket gifts, as well as some tips on how to find unique baskets, themes, and hiding places too!

1. Use funky baskets

Basket choice is critical. People will throw away a cheap, plastic Easter basket and it will end up in a land fill for a bazillion years. Instead, use a basket they might want to KEEP! Look for cool textures, weaving patters, material...and think about what they may use it for when Easter is over. This basket was gifted to me by my sister and I thought it was SO COOL I've held on to it and have used it for so many different things. Find a basket like that...And rest assured you'll have the radest Easter Basket at the Easter Egg Hunt.

We filled this super jazzy basket with a Tea Towel liner to give it a pop of color, and it's just more fun to incorporate it into the display instead of just folding it up and sticking it in there! Then its just a matter of arranging other little pretties around until everything is set!

2. Make it Pop

No one wants to be the kid who is still looking for their Easter Basket, long after all their friends found theirs! If being a good basket-hider is your thing...Then may we suggest going all in and making it camouflage too! But me? I want my basket to be the first one found! Is it overkill to have a mini laser light show attached to the basket?

Using fun colors will make your basket unique from all the others, and gives you the opportunity to really think about who you are making your basket for. What is their personality like? Find colors and patterns that remind you of them.

Our favorite thing to add in an Easter Basket is Home Decor. We designed this basket to include a Matted Art Print, Swedish Dishcloth, Reusable Sponge, and other small gifts for horse lovers.

3. Use a Cowboy Hat

Rodeo Easter Basket for cowgirl using a cowboy hat for the basket. Contains gifts for horse lovers like Howdy Swedish Dishcloth, notepad and Pony Pin.

My traveling pal, Su$an and I like to get hats when we vacation together. I don't even wear hats really...But I LOVE hat shopping at local boutiques! Plus, hats at the barn are kind of a must, especially in the summers!

So how about instead of a basket, get a cool cowboy hat and fill it with a few fun items. The hat is the main attraction here! We filled that hat with a Howdy! Swedish Dishcloth and Pony Pin, plus a cool matching notepad too! Throw some candy in there and giddy up you're ready to roll!

4. Pack it Tight

Equestrian gift ideas for horse lovers. Find horse-themed gifts like equestrian homegoods, notepads, lapel pins, stationery and other small gift items.

The tighter it is, the better it will stay put! The last thing you want is an unstable load when you're trying to be stealth and find the most perfect hiding place! The more you stuff in there, the less it will all shift around and start to look messy.

If your basket is a bit too big for the gifts you have...We use crumpled up grocery bags to add some volume at the bottom, and crinkle paper to fill in gaps. Crinkle paper makes everything look more festive...But I totally hate how messy it is! But beauty is pain.

Anyway...Check out our Easter Basket Gifts page for ideas to stuff in your basket!

5. Hunt for the Golden Egg

Golden Egg Hunt with Easter Bunnies

Golden Eggs are legendary, and they're always the top prize at the annual Easter Egg Hunt! When you hide your Easter baskets this year...Don't forget to hide a golden egg! Some people put money in them (I want one of those!) and some put anything from a few pieces of candy to store gift certificates, or movie tickets (to the moooon! *kidding*)

We're doing a special golden egg hunt here at Hunt Seat Paper Co! Between March 4, 2023 - April 1, 2023 at midnight PST, all completed orders of $25.00 or more will be entered to win a $100 shopping credit at huntseatpaperco.com! Want more info? Click here!
